Maker Camp is a massive next step for Asmbly’s education program as we continue or mission of empowering Austin’s creative makers! It is an amazing opportunity to extend opportunities to Austin’s youth, a group that has been underserved at Asmbly in the past. It is also a massive undertaking, and would not be possible without help from our amazing community. So many of you have already been a part of the backend development of this program, and we are extremely grateful for all of the time and effort that has gone into preparation.
We are now ready to open up the next volunteering opportunity to our community: volunteering at the camp itself!
Volunteering at Maker Camp includes:
- helping with behavior management
- helping campers with projects
- being a friendly face for campers
- giving affirmation and positive feedback
We would also love to have volunteers who would like to teach/lead activities in shop areas you have experience in!
If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the volunteer application form. Please let me know if you have nay questions about volunteering, or about the camp in general!
