@OctopusDream’s staff role last quarter as Media & Marketing Coordinator was supported by grant funding that has wrapped up, which means his paid role will come to an end this week.
During his time in the role, Alex brought a lot of heart and creativity to how Asmbly shows up and tells its story through various marketing channels. His work helped highlight the people and projects that make this place special.
The good news is that Alex isn’t disappearing! He’ll continue to be involved with Asmbly on a volunteer basis, supporting marketing and outreach in a much smaller way moving forward (watch for some YouTube additions coming up soon!). This also helps make room for a new full-time job he’s starting! I’m very excited for him in this next chapter
Please join me in thanking Alex for the time, care, and energy he’s shared with this community. I’m really grateful for everything he’s contributed, and I’m glad we’ll still get to work alongside him.
Thanks everyone! It’s been great being able to help capture some of our maker magic around the shop. I’ll finally be taking on some personal projects myself this year rather than drooling over what others has created
Alex - You’ve done an amazing job building the makerspace’s social media presence and, more importantly, helping so many members feel welcomed, seen, and included.
Through your work, you didn’t just promote the space—you built connection and community. You helped highlight the people, projects, and culture that make this place special, and that impact has been felt by so many members.
Your new role in outreach is a natural extension of everything you’ve already been doing so well, and I’m excited to see how you continue to build bridges and bring people together in this next chapter.
Thank you again for everything you’ve contributed to the space. We’re better because of it!
