I will need to make a print on the PolyPrinter soon, but when I came last night to test my print on Apollo, the laptop that controls the PolyPrinter wasn’t there and I was told that it should have been. Can someome keep me in the loop on when it is back?
Thanks!
I’m assuming the issue with the PolyPrinter I brought up a while back has been fixed.
I just started the print and there are some gaps in the first layer, which is similar to what I was dealing with before. I’m going to let it print overnight but can come back after lunch tomorrow. @aneel , will you be at the lab at all tomorrow? If the print shifted again, I can stay there a bit longer and we can figure it out.
I checked my KISSlicer settings after I got home and found that the nozzle was set to 0.35mm. Possible that that was causing the issue? I mean, the gaps are bigger than .05mm.
I tried downloading the newest version of KISSlicer too but it didn’t have a default 229 profile for some reason…
Unfortunately, I’m no expert on the PolyPrinter (@EricP is the best bet for that). I’d be willing to run a print for you on the Bambu and see if that helps.
Hmm I adjusted the belts and oiled everything down. I was getting good prints but didn’t do extensive testing. Try that same print with the speed setting all the way to precise. I think we should go ahead and replace the belts.
I re-generated the GCode with that setting and am heading to the lab now. If it looks like the print failed, I will book time and try it with that GCode.
Print was a bit rough. I started the more precise print and it looked like it was maybe going to have the same issue, but I will see how it turns out this evening.
Here is some of the belt specs but we need to know the thickness of the belts from top of rib. etc. also for the y cariage need to know the rib distance spacing. @AidFHonda could you measure for me.
Got it. Let me know if/when the Polyprinter gets fixed. Sorry my print broke it.
I was talking with someone else in the print lab today and he said that the Polyprinter is unreliable. Maybe worth getting an enclosed Prusa for ABS prints for those who aren’t trained on Bambu?
For what it’s worth I’ve printed quite a bit of ABS on both the Mk3s and XL as well as my completely unenclosed Mk3s at home, with no issues of separation or warping. I recommend using a brim.
