Hmm… how easy is that to separate from the print? I’m making a control panel and the bottom surface will be seen by the end user.
Very easy! It is by default (at least in PrusaSlicer) only a single layer thick, so it usually just peels off in one piece. Anything remaining can be cleaned up with a deburring tool or utility blade, or sanded.
I think that one of the problems here is that the large enclosure means that the temperatures of the different printers affect each other.
Over the weekend, a PLA print on the XL happened to be running at the same time as an ABS print on Apollo, with the plastic divider separating those two printers from Hermes and Sun Wukong. Both the ABS print and the PLA print showed what look to me like temperature-related problems.
I have printed this PLA with these settings before, and never seen this kind of warping off of the bed:
During the winter holidays, when all of the printers were printing a lot, we also saw the XL stop prints because it overheated.
Oh jeez…
Well, if the plastic divider works, I could potentially pick up a large, clear bin from The Container Store and use that as a cover? Could that work?
