I’m using a Prusa MK3S+ with a 0.25mm nozzle. I would like to be able to at least try swapping filaments because I discovered that even low power can melt the plastic. Plus, there is no frame of reference for the origin on this engraver.
Can the AMS printers in the lab be used with ABS filament? The bed temp limit of 100°C seems a bit low. Also, they require a special training course, no?
Zephyrus is the Bamboo printer configured for high heat materials and can support ABS, but it doesn’t have an AMS. The Bamboo printers no longer require additional certification.
The other Bambu printers with ams can also be used with abs, they just don’t have a chamber heater. So you will likely want to preheat the chamber with the bed heater for at least 30m after loading the filament and preparing the bed.
Set the nozzle to cool down, set the bed temperature up, and the watch the nozzle temp to get an idea of the ambient chamber temperature.
Zephyrus modifications make it easier, but it’s supported on all the machines!
They’re small parts so that could work. What sizes are the nozzles?
All the Bambus are 0.4mm nozzles.
That may be too thick. I have an idea for an inverted stencil I will try.
