I believe it’s ok to use multiple strips of aluminum tape by just letting them overlap and make sure they’re not creasing anywhere. Making sure the foil goes on flat is a bit hard with wide rolls too- it may actually be easier to put a strip down flat then lay another overlapping strip instead of rolling out something much wider than your grip.
You can use your fingernail to press that line down and make it nothing. The small “step” where it goes to the back means it loses contact with the veneer for, like, 0.1mm. The veneer isn’t going to bend back to follow it. The worst case seems like a thin strip feature in the veneer running down the overlap line. But you can’t even have a feature narrower than ~0.3mm (more on this in the next post) so this shouldn’t be a prob. If you make a narrower feature, it will actually break it… that needs an explanation
