The Maker Market is fast approaching and as our largest annual event, we’ll need all the help we can get! Volunteering during the Maker Market is a great way to get see Asmbly at its best. The space will be chock full of talented makers showing off their work, as well as lots of fresh faces seeing Asmbly for the first time. Only have an hour to spare? Help us out on Friday, November 14th! We’re looking for assistance with general tidying and set up of tables, chairs, etc. This is the perfect volunteer opportunity for folks who will be busy during the event with their own booths - or for those of us that want to contribute without being in a large crowd!
Markets can be grueling for vendors. Let’s support our vendors by having volunteers throughout the event going around and checking in to see if vendors need anything. If not needed, this person will hang out at the Asmbly table at shop door. Sign up for a 75 minute slot any time that weekend!
This next volunteer opportunity is for our ceramicists out there! We will have the wheels set up in the parking lot for an open “play with clay” activity. Volunteers will supervise participants as they throw on the wheel, but all clay will be reused and there will be no firings - just fun! Sign up for a 2 hour slot during the event!
Have a friend you’ve been meaning to bring to Asmbly? Volunteer together! They’ll get to experience Asmbly at its best, and if they’re interested in joining the volunteer program, their hours will count toward comped membership just like yours.
If you’re not yet familiar with our volunteer program, check out the info on our wiki. Every 12 volunteer hours = 1 month of free membership, so helping out at the Maker Market is a great way to earn time in the shop!
If you’re not yet enrolled in the program but would like your Maker Market hours to count, just send me an email or DM. I’ll make sure your hours are added after the event once you’ve completed onboarding.

We also have opportunity to pass out flyer/post cards from now until the event. Physical copies are on the lobby table and on top of the bookshelf in the MPR.
Thank you all for signing up to prep the space on Friday! We’re still in need of help during the event on Saturday the 15th and Sunday the 16th. If anyone is looking to knock out a bunch of volunteer hours, you could volunteer the whole day and be 3 hours away from a month of comped membership! You can keep that month for yourself or gift it to a friend.
