We’ve got several spots open this weekend to volunteer at the Asmbly booth that we could really use help filling. I wanted to give folks some more info here to better understand what they’d be signing themselves up for when helping with this
I will also do training sessions for the booth at 11a Saturday and 11a Sunday before the event starts to help answer any questions people may have.
People who volunteer at the Asmbly booth for at least 2 hours will get a free T-shirt and all new Asmbly sticker sheet @cwduffy01 helped put together
The main Asmbly booth will be in the front lobby with zones set up! Volunteers here will be some of the first welcoming faces people likely see when they arrive. One consistent thing these volunteers should be prepared for is answering questions about Asmbly (you don’t have to know it all to be well suited for this!).
Volunteer Stations
Front desk
This volunteer will be sitting behind the main front desk in the lobby greeting folks as they arrive.
Main tasks:
- Hand out maps
- This will show where all the booths, food, drinks, and activities are. We’ll have stacks of these spread around all over the event for folks to pick up wherever they are.
- Encourage email list sign ups and social media follows to get a free raffle ticket
- If the person says they have already done this, they can show a marketing email they’ve received from us or a social media platform where they’re following us to prove it and get a free raffle ticket.
- We will also have signs with QR codes people can scan to do these actions from their phones.
- Note: Since we don’t ticket people to attend the event, this is one of our major sources for estimating foot traffic.
- Sell raffle tickets and Asmbly gift cards
- There will be a Square Kiosk at this station to use for transactions. All items sold will be in the Square store for simple checkout.
- We will have physical gift cards people can take and we will email them coupon codes after the event with the email address they provide in checkout.
Merch
This person will be next to the front desk selling Asmbly merch. We will have standing wire display racks with various items including shirts, hats, journals, water bottles, mugs, keychains, bottle openers, sticker sheets, and more. The volunteer in this area will have a seat available to them, but will likely be standing a fair bit as they interact with people.
Main tasks:
- Sell merch
- There will be a Square Kiosk at this station to use for transactions. All items sold will be in the Square store for simple checkout.
- We have a lot of exciting new merch debuting at the Maker Market, so this will be a pretty fun area to help out!
- Restock displays
- As merch is sold, pull from stock behind displays to replenish and keep it looking fresh.
Raffles & Prize Wheel
We will transform the area with the red table to be the raffle and prize wheel zone. The volunteer in this area will have a seat available to them, but will likely be standing a fair bit as they interact with people.
Main tasks:
- Letting folks with a raffle ticket spin the prize wheel and assisting them with prizes.
- Anyone with a raffle ticket can spin the wheel!
- Redirecting folks interested in raffle items who don’t have raffle tickets to get a free one or purchase extras at the front desk.
- Oftentimes, people scope out the items and decide from there that they care enough to want to buy raffle tickets.
Having plenty of help at the Asmbly booth will be really impactful on the success of the event. Check out the available slots here and sign up to help!
