I noticed we don’t post completed projects often, possibly because we don’t want to create a new thread for every small thing we make – at least that’s the case for me. I thought I’d get this thread started and everyone can just bump it whenever you make something you’d like to show off and don’t feel like creating a new thread every time
Here’s my first completed project of 2025: a cabinet/shelf-like thing mostly to house our hydroponic setup (we live a condo so this is our “garden”) but also cookbooks and a booze shelf:
(the curtains still need to be hemmed but you get the idea)
And here is the second one: handles for a couple of awls (these are the blades I used) + a leather tool roll for them. When I asked for advice on buying some tools, a friend just gave me a few of his instead, so I decided to make him something in return:
If you’ve been around textiles lately, you’ve seen me work on another wet-moulded leather thing – a modular tool case/pouch. It’s finally done but since it only makes sense on video here’s a short clip:
Turns out there’s a reason you don’t typically make things this way, because it was unpleasant to work on throughout, esp. on the stitching. The result is a bit more rustic than I prefer but I just wanted it to be done
WOW! Just WOW! Branislav, you are so unbelievably talented… I’m so in awe of your talent, creativity and workmanship. Thank you for sharing this, it’s truly inspiring.
Finally – finally! – calling this one done. It took a back seat to several projects over the last 6 months (no maker has ever had that happen to them) but I made a point of wrapping it up recently.
It’s a travel case for watches: the inner structure is made of walnut, the outside roll is buffalo (?) leather lined with suede and reinforced with stiffener material, edges are painted, and the cushions are foam wrapped in suede. Strangely enough, it was the cushions that took the longest to figure out.
WOW, just WOW! I’m in awe of your talent @Branislav Your work is impeccable, stunningly beautiful and so creative. I’m so glad you post these projects as they continue to inspire me.
