After more than a year and a half of volunteering as the woodturning lead, @drew.hynes has decided to step down and pass the torch. Over that time he has kept up with the lathe space, educated folks on sharpening techniques, moved the lathe station to it’s new home, and built the carts for CTWA along with numerous other volunteer projects. While working towards his PHD, He will continue instructing the woodturning classes and helping out around the space as a volunteer.Thank you Drew!

Some of y’all have already met @phurfphurf (JD) through woodshop safety, orientations, or metal shop safety. He’s been volunteering as one of our woodshop leads since early this year and will be stepping over to the wood turning lead position! He’s eager to help maintain and grow the woodturning area where interest has been sneaking up on and capturing the attention from flat land wood workers!

What this means now is we are opening up a position for a new Woodshop lead to help out @Glory2God (Michael) It’s no secret the woodshop gets a significant amount of use, and with the upcoming dust collection upgrade planning in progress, and the holiday gift making season coming up, there’s a lot heading our way! If you are interested or someone you know might be, please reach out to Michael or me.
