When I was leaving tonight no one was using woodshop tools that required the DC so I tried to turn it off. The little toggle switch was already in the off position but DC was running for quite a while with no users. I turned off the big sub panel kill switch to kill the DC (and hopefully nothing else.)
I apologize if that’s the wrong procedure but it seemed like the only option. Please advise if this is a known issue or if we’re supposed to leave that beast running at all times. Attn: @Rolo
Thank you for writing about this. Seems like the woodshop was all full up this morning and I haven’t seen any problem reports coming in. Either the DC has been totally ignored or it ended up working out. My money is on the latter.
Tagging a few names I see booked on Skedda this morning. Is the DC giving y’all any trouble today?
Yesterday I had to climb a latter, turn a switch, and press a button to start it. Today I had to flip a large switch at ground level, then climb a ladder to push a button. Not exactly user friendly. And this morning, people had been using the table saw for a half hour without the dust collection on.
The DC was already running when I arrived around 7:10 am and was still running nonstop when I left around 12:30. I did check the DC trash can (I moved it to determine its weight) and it was empty.
Sorry, I’m late to this thread. Every time that I’ve been in the shop for the last few days the DC has been working fine. Even with all the blast gates (if that’s what they are called?) open it was working. I’ve made it a habit to walk around and close them all if they aren’t being used. The suction has been great.
