I really hate a lot of the woodworking stuff on social media because they are always removing the blade guard hardware to get the video shots.
Blade guards are important safety features. Blade guards are really important when something goes wrong.
One of the YouTube woodworkers had a really bad woodworking accident. The wood kicked back and impaled his right arm–which was bad enough. But, because he was distracted with pain, he put his entire left hand into the spinning blade. A functioning blade guard would likely have prevented that.
