White polycarbonate sheets up for grabs!

Hi all!

I have two sheets of 1/8” thick white polycarbonate sheets, one about 4’x4’, the other 4’x5’.

NOTE: This material will NOT cut or mark on the laser cutters. NOT for use on the laser cutters!

Available until 31 Jan 2026 – if no takers by then, will dispose of them through Austin utilities waste disposal services.

Thank you for anyone willing to take them off my hands.

I’m interested, but I don’t have a specific project in mind, so happy to defer to anyone who does.

I would like the sheets. I would use them on my robot.

Hi Joe,

I think the sheets will work well for a robotics project. I can meet you at Asmbly Thursday or Friday, or just leave the sheets in the woodshop with your name on them

Please leave them with my name! @alan did you want me to cut a piece for you

Hi Joe,

I have definate spot in my lathe jig for a piece 10” x 4’, if you can spare it. If not, no worries.

thanks, Pete

I can do that. I can stomp shear it. Is that ok?

Sure. Thanks Joe!

I will take the plastic into Asmbly today, and let you know when I have dropped it off.

Thank you, creative Asmbly members, for making use of this resource and keeping it out of the landfill!

Thank you for posting about it!

If you have any leftover pieces that you can trim into rectangles, say 4” wide at least, I could take those. Or I guess I can trim myself depending on which tools are suitable - I figured it’s ok to use on the sawstop, but not certain.

I like to use scrap HDPE for miscellaneous yard projects, I think PC will work about as well for that, right? In terms of heat/cold/UV resistance.

I have some 1/8” hdpe if you would like? How many would you need? They are circles that is larger 4”

I have left the sheets in the woodshop storage rack, with Joe’s name on them. Best of luck!
