I have a Full Spectrum brand laser at home and about 10 years experience. I want to get certified to use Asmbly’s lasers and understand the usage details. Which is the best class to take?
If you have laser experience already, I would say take the big lasers class. They’re really nice to use, and if you already have a laser, the main advantage or using them is likely their size.
Part of why they’re so nice to use is that they use Lightburn, which you may already be familiar with.
It doesnt matter how experienced you are, you have to take the classes mostly to familiarize you with how to turn them on, how to turn them off, and most important what to do if something goes wrong. You never know, you may learn a few things. In the last few months i helped more than a few people how to set up and run both the machines and the software, and a couple of women came up with a few questions that made me look and learn a few new ways to think or do in the big lasers. I have been using and fixing lasers for about 15 or so years. Anyway, Asmbly is not questioning your experience, they just want you to learn how to use their machines safely following the maker space rules.
