Our squirrels seem undeterred by any furniture covers we’ve found off-the-shelf, so I’m thinking perhaps it’s time to try making something extra-sturdy. Where do you usually find heavy-duty fabrics? Is there a local vendor of outdoor / awning / upholstery type fabrics where I can touch some samples, or am I stuck ordering online?
Put a cow bone or deer antler in a tree or other squirrel-frequented place. Squirrels are desperate to gnaw on anything they can find to keep their teeth filed down properly, and dry bone is perfect. If you give them that, they may have no need to gnaw on random things and leave them alone.
