What’s your current Would Do Now Project?

What’s your current wish list next project?

Maybe some of us overlap and can work together.

Mine is a blanket ladder - some examples

I need to build something similar that can live outside. That ladder design might work well for me. My use case will be hanging my yoga mat and towels to dry.

This style might be where I go:

Another short list project for me is a hotel style headboard with matching night stands.

I am definitely looking to make a blanket ladder! Happy to buddy up…

Thanks! Steve

I’m in the brainstorming process for making a new bookshelf, and been inspired by @studiosmiddy on instagram

I also want to start on a new mirror project soon, but not sure what that’s gonna look like yet, so we’ll see!

I’m going to make 2-3 under cabinet lighting prototypes. I plan to use neopixel matrices and strips powered by WLED on some ESP32s.

I’ll CNC / laser some frames for the matrices and 3D print boxes for the electronics.

I have been procrastinating on building some shelves for my home workshop for a few months now, thinking about this simple design that my buddy Ben made:

That looks doable!

@ashleyrlee (and others) I am going to be prototyping/ working on a “blanket ladder” in the near future.

I’ll do so publicly if others want to make along.

Great! I’m available to join in.

I think we can make something similar to these kits for less $$$.

I’m mostly going to use the CNC and Shaper. I’ll make a prototype from scrap plywood and then eventually make some weather resistant hardwood version.

Friends, Good morning!

My cedar post blanket ladder is complete for my client! LMK what you think please.

I got all of the cedar needed for $11 (4x posts of various diameters and all >5.5’ long) from the “Post Yard” up in Florence right on Hwy 183.

I love it Steve! The proportions look spot on and the color contrast of the cedar and leather really pop. Great job! I’m confident your client is extremely pleased and you should be very proud of this blanket ladder.

Very cool Steve!

I was not aware of that lumber source. What else do they have?

Are the rungs secured via the leather straps alone? Where did you source the leather from?

Steve, Strictly cedar and in all sorts of formats - I saw huge posts, fence posts (like I used), live edge lumber, and even some biscuits. I forgot to shoot a few pictures while there, but here is a picture of the raw wood.

I used countersunk construction screws to hold rungs on to the staves which I then covered with the leather. I got the leather on Amazon here:
