What plywood is this?

It’s 1/2" thick but lasers really well. Tarkin goes through it at 13 and leaves a really clean edge. Cuts so well I’d recommend it specifically if i knew what it was

Found it in woodshop scrap bin.

it’s 3 unequal plies, the middle is notably thinner, and the surface is thin veneers

Maybe Vietnamese plywood, i seen 3/4" sheets in Dakota it looked rather good and weird because the cores were different. I think Lowes sells it too. If the piece has some writing on the edge you maybe able to identify it that way.

Lowes website is remarkably helpful in that they have a product photo of the edge

the one potential match is 1/2" sanded oak. it’s the only one with the unusual 3 thick ply plus veneers.

FWIW, I’ve had consistently good results with the Columbia Purebond brand of 1/2" ply sold by Home Depot. It has a similar 3-ply structure, but the center ply is generally a bit thicker than that I think.

I believe the “Purebond” branding refers to the glue formulation they use, which does indeed seem “clean” in the sense that it doesn’t appear to cause excessive smoky residue or gappy cuts.

Danny I would take a look at the new lobby desk edge and see if they match. If so then it is the oak plywood that was purchased at Fine Lumber.
