What do I need to sublimate tumblers?

I am planning on using the sublimation printer and round heat press to make some gifts. What do I need to get started, aside from the file? Is there a type of paper that is best for this application?

Any information is appreciated!

Sublimation works on polyester best. Brighter from what I’m told.

I’ve never done this, but I explored it and purchased a polyester spray for metal (aluminum, in my case), and then I went in a different direction. But I still have the spray and have been looking for a good home for it.

If you want it, let me know. Text me 512-423-5292

You can buy packs of appropriate sublimation paper at Asmbly. We usually get “A-Sub” brand 125g.

As for the stuff to sublimate on to, the easiest option is to buy prepared “sublimation blanks”. These are things like mugs, tumblers, key chains, etc pre-coated with a convenient sublimation surface. Googling for, e.g. “tumbler sublimation blank” will turn up many options.

The spray also works if you find something you really like that isn’t sublimation-ready.

I have extra sublimation tumbler blanks and coffee mugs that I can sell ya if you’d like.

That’s good to know, thank you!

Mugs might be a good idea! How much for 2?
