Asmbly has made some exciting changes to our volunteer program aimed at making it more accessible and flexible for everyone!
1. No More Cap on Volunteer Hours
We’ve removed the cap on volunteer hours. We don’t want to discourage folks from contributing more when there’s a need. This also makes volunteering more accessible for gig workers who have varying schedules.
2. Membership Not Required to Volunteer
You no longer need an active membership to participate in volunteer opportunities! While non-members are limited to supervised volunteer tasks, there are still plenty of ways to get involved—like mini-steward sessions in the woodshop, special projects with our facilities coordinator, hosting orientations with our membership coordinator, or participating in community workdays.
We understand how challenging it can be to find the time to volunteer enough to make use of the benefits, and we want to ensure that access through the volunteer program isn’t a source of stress for anyone.
You can learn more about Asmbly’s volunteer program on our wiki, or feel free to reach out here with any questions.
Thank you to all our incredible volunteers. Asmbly truly wouldn’t exist without your efforts!
