We are thrilled to welcome @Katy to the Asmbly staff as our new Lead Ceramics Studio Technician! This is a critical part-time position reporting to the Facilities Manager.
The Lead Ceramics Studio Tech helps Asmbly’s ceramics studio with kiln operations, shelf, clay, and house glaze upkeep as well as ensure cleanliness and general upkeep in the studio.
Katy’s background and experience stems from her own studio practice and her residency at the Dougherty Arts Center.
Katy will be working closely with our Volunteer Ceramics Lead (Stanton). She is eager to help ensure your pieces are not only fired well but prepared well, and working through great ideas with you!
One perk of working at Asmbly is access to the studio for personal projects. When approaching Katy, please be courteous of her time and immediate tasks. Except in emergency cases, please ask if she is on Asmbly time or working on personal projects. We also remind all members that upkeep and care for the facility is your responsibility. Every member is expected to clean up after themselves plus some additional effort to maintain a clean communal space. Katy’s role is to manage and enforce these standards, not to perform routine cleaning for everyone.
Please give Katy a big welcome as she steps into this crucial staff role!
