I replaced the filter bag on one of the shop-vacs, and as a result it looks like we only have one left. I didn’t check the other vacuums but I have a strong suspicion, based on the state of this one, that they also need to be replaced.
At first I tried to save the filter bag, but god himself had a good laugh at that feeble attempt. It was ripped inside the bin, and it wouldn’t come out without much persuasion.
I’ve never used these filter bags at home. I’m amazed at how clean they keep the filter, and at how compact they get with sawdust. It was similar to a cement bag in terms of compacted dust.
More bags will arrive tomorrow. I’ll be in today and look to see if I can scare one up.
I haven’t checked the vacs in a while, clearly. But they usually stay empty, as they should. They fill up much faster when people bypass the bucket, which they should not do.
What does get past the bucket are the fines, which will definitely pack down.
