Definitely feels like user error, but when i try to open VCarve (which was working fine this morning), I get a windows pop-up that says “This trial version is out of date! Please visit the Vectric website for an updated version”
When i go to vectric and login with my Asmbly email, i can see the same trial download that i’ve installed before.
I am logged in on Vectric. Can’t get into VCCarve to login there (though I was this morning).
Vcarve has been messing with the makerspace edition. I asked them about this at the user conference and they admitted that they are changing their version skins to try to drive upgrades.
You want to log into the portal with your account and go to the software download center. It will say trial version but once you download and authenticate go to the help/about section and it should then say makerspace edition and asmbly makerspace. The skin will still say trial but it is the makerspace edition.
In my defense, they do offer a compelling DIFFERENT download called “Asmbly Makerspace Edition vCarve Pro v12.0” but that one does not work. The one above it, “Trial Software vCarve Pro v12.0” does work.
I found that we should use “Asmbly Makerspace Edition vCarve Pro v12.0” under Membership Software. So Will Clark (@wclark), did you really mean to not use it. Help James (@jamesfreeman), we need to know what is right or wrong to use! I worried that people will see this post and get confused.
Same here, I tried to update with the links at Vetric and the reply was that I need an older version so that’s not the way. As soon as someone has an answer, please send. Thank you, Kathy
