I recently got a new computer and need to install the Vcarve on it so that i can use the CNC in the near future. Are there instructions anywhere that can help me get set up again?
Were you previously using V12 under the makerspace license? If so, you should be able to login to the Vectric portal and download the software. If not, we’ll need your email to add you.
Ahh awesome. Couldn’t remember if it had to be set up on a specific device or was linked to my log in. I was using the makerspace license previously so I’ll try downloading and logging in
Invitation sent.
May I tag on to this thread?
My version is only the trial and won’t allow me to download the g-code
my email is will.clark.jr@gmail.com - can someone hook me up?
@wclark The trail version does not allow the g-code to be produced. You need to use Asmbly’s v-carve license on the Asmbly computer to generate the g-code
yep. but i don’t see the ability to download. my trial version shows that i’m a part of asmbly
do i need a new invite?
Are you logged into v-carve at Asmbly?
Yes, I am logged in to vcarve and the About page shows I’m a member of the Austin Asmbly
(can’t upload a screenshot to the thread)
You cant download the gcode from any version other than the fully licensed versions at Asmbly.
You can create your toolpaths and save your Vcarve file on your home trial edition. Then you log into the Asmbly computers, load your file and then save the gcode.
ah ok. so bring my .crv file on a usb and then from the asmbly computer save out the pathways / g-code?
exactly. Just make sure youbare logged in at home. That’s what allows you to open it at Asmbly.
bingo. thanks for the guidance. i’ll run with this this weekend and see how far i get!
