Tutorial series on digital embroidery

Here’s a helpful tutorial series I found on digital embroidery that I’ve been following. Took me from the basics to making a patch with multiple layers, satin border, and satin lettering.

Some of the most useful topics were:

  • creating a patch (subtleties like minimizing # of color changes, excluding objects so that there’s only a uniform single layer)
  • Ink/Stitch commands (minimizing # of jump threads, stopping embroidering after a certain object)
  • some basic default settings for free-standing lace (FSL) projects - changing space between stitches, removing underlay for fills

Because it’s based on Ink/Stitch, it also helps teach Inkscape as well.
