Tuesdays in Ceramics: Bowlathon Trimming Party!

Hey ya’ll! Elizabeth back again with a post of the happenings this beautiful Tuesday evening!

  1. Stanton in the shop leading a team to complete the trimming from the delightfully successful BOWLATHON for Austin Empty Bowl Project. Ya’ll made 124 bowls and Stanton, Jade, Chelsey and Jason are rocking away at getting them ready for their first firing! Repeating Jason’s post, there will be a “Bowlathon Trimming Day Sunday, October 5 from 3–6 PM. Later this month:
Bowlathon Glazing Day Sunday, October 26 from 3–6 PM Sign-up coming soon! Still Needed: Packing Supplies! To protect and deliver bowls, we’re looking for: Moving boxes (16" L × 10" W × 12" D), 12-bottle wine boxes, Banker’s boxes, Packing material (bubble wrap, paper, etc.)”
  2. We set up a dry-erase board near the Ceramics Entrance door so that we can get better at communicating as changes happen within the shop
  3. The regular stuff! Aprons cleaned, glazes reorganized
  4. Working on a little “How to Clean” guidance sheet for near the sinks to encourage tools being cleaned properly and returned to their designated spaces. We are moving to use the drying racks for yellow sponges only & returning all other tools to the wire racks on the wall. Hoping to publish this in the space next week

Thank you @EEatx for adding this to your post! I also want to give a big shoutout to @GreggWillman and @Nona for your bowl trimming efforts.

None of this could have happened without the energy and dedication from all of you who are making it happen.
