Tubing Bender Availability

Is a tubing bender available that is capable of bending 1-1/2” O.D. by 1-1/4” I.D. DOM mild steel tubing?

We have some tubing benders in the metal shop. I suspect that they are capable of that but I’m not certain. The manuals are in a binder in the machine shop cabinet.

However, we’ve never really had them set up correctly. We’ve generally been able to improvise something, but it takes some doing. (The plans to finally attach them to the floor are, like many other things, on hold because of possible near future layout changes.)

Thx much for the info. I am scheduled for the metal shop safety class with Savana on Monday. I’ll ask her to show me the manuals.

There’s a 16 ton pipe bender on the metal area. It’s not the type that is mounted because depending on how long the tube is determines how far off the floor it needs to be. I couldn’t find the different sized dies. The one in it looks to be for 2” pipe. It is designed for thick wall pipe. It will crush thin wall tubing. However there are techniques on YouTube that allow it to bend thin wall tubing such as filling the tube with sand.

There’s a milk crate full of dies and bits and bobs. It’s usually under one of the metal workbenches.

Thx much

How can I learn more about your battlebot?

Is there a picture of the pipe bender?
