I have a tour scheduled with The Yellow Bike Project and The Robot Group on Thursday, April 11th. Starting at noon. (1216 Webberville Rd, Austin, TX 78721) The purpose of the tour is to perhaps disassemble some bikes and evaluate their needs and see if we can help. There is the potential for us to purchase old bicycles at scrap-weight prices. They have suggested we could have scrap parts for free. My kid and I helped remove bike spokes from the rims and separate the metals. The tools they have are a bit modest for this task and it is something I considered working on first. I have a friend who sold me some artwork of an alien creature with a lot of teeth. Combining something like a foot-operated arbor press with an artistic cover was something that crossed my mind, but I would like to hear what other people are inspired by.

Using bike frames to make tables

Welding education on all of the scrap bike frames.

Lots of gears, chains, and bearings.
-
Kinetec sculptures.
-
Redicuous volumes of singular items like bike spokes that allow the imagination to run wild.
