Tarkin temporarily operating at reduced power (Resolved)

Tarkin developed an issue and is operating at half power at the moment. Reduce speeds to approx half for now. Will fix shorty.

One unrelated note, please do not let anything block the air assist cone. This would most likely be from large pieces of plywood that has parts that warp upwards as they cut out but I’m not sure. Blocking the cone will over pressure the system and pop off hoses, leaving it running without air assist which will destroy the lens very quickly.

i am working on the idea of a hardware flow meter failsafe that will be able to detect if the air assist isn’t flowing properly, due to either blockage or the hose being disconnected, and stop the machine until the user can remedy it.
This might or might not be introduced along with an upgrade that would allow the user to vary the air assist flow rate. The failsafe strategy grew a bit in scope since i realized it needs a secondary LCD panel to report this sort of thing. The secondary system controller can only protect the system by opening the door interlock or water flow sensor and neither message alone would be too misleading

Yet another development, I just about have ready a standardized calibration test pattern that will slice a very small sample of your material across a eide range of speeds and provide an exact number for cutting out. This largely makes materials library entries for cutting unnecessary, and yields such a precise number that it will increase the effective cutting speed substantially. There is a guide on using it but it’s very intuitive to use and interpret anyhow.

As part of that, I’m putting out test coupons (just small rectangular samples of material whose expected cut speed was recorded). That allows anyone to do this test pattern on that, which objectively establishes whether the machine is cutting to spec or needs to be reported and red tagged

The test pattern is for Ruida controllers, Tarkin and Dorian. It won’t work with blue or Pearl

The test pattern is a good calibration idea. I seen it and find it rather neat. “Bar Code” came to mind when i seen it, is that small!. I also used Tarking for the first time in a while yesterday and is making super clean cuts and also love the thin kerf. Hope this helps someone.

@dannym What do you think about a low pressure blow off valve? I don’t know the pressure of the air system.

Fixed, back to full power
