Table Saw Maintenance and Reminder about the Wiki

Small offcuts can frequently fall into the table saw and clog the dust collection hoses. The hoses should be visually inspected for blockages daily or whenever excessive sawdust is observed during operation. When the dust collection system is working correctly, very little sawdust should accumulate around the table saw.

Procedure

  1. Find the dust collection port behind the saw, low to the ground.
    1.1 Watch you head!
  2. Visually inspect the hose for a clog. The hose is slightly transparent for easy inspection. A clogged hose is heaver than you might expect. Lift the hose off the ground.
  3. If clogged, remove the hose clamp and hose from the saw.
  4. Shake the hose and gently hit the sides of the hose to remove stuck debris.
  5. If the dust collection port is also clogged, insert a shop vac into the port until the port is clear of debris.
  6. Reattach the hose.

Wiki
I have also added this info to the Wiki. Anyone can edit the wiki to add maintenance procedures (or anything else). It really is an under utilized resource.

The only annoyance is the the picture upload limit (2mb). Basically all pictures taken on a phone are larger than that. Is there any way to increase the limit?

I usually get around this photo size limitation by taking a screenshot of the photo.

@Jon may be able to help with the photo size limit. There’s also a wiki page on how to contribute to the wiki that has formatting guidelines, as well as some other useful pointers. Thanks Austin!
