Sublimation onto wood with a lamination sheet

Another day, another test with more materials for the sublimation printer and heat press.

Today, I coated a piece of thin plywood with a piece of lamination film (same kind you would use to laminate paper). I adhered it with the heat press, and then sublimated a picture onto that.

I had one piece of wood that I couldn’t get the film to adhere well to, but this piece worked great, and the picture transfer went perfectly. I didn’t have a razor blade to clean up the edge of the plastic, but I think it’s useful to see as an example

also evident at the top of the small wood pane? just how bad I am at getting my squares to be…square. :woman_facepalming:

(finally taking laser class at the end of the month, and will re-up my CNC with a refresher)
