Struggling with Juki Bobbin

I tried to use the Juki machine today but could not get the thread from the bobbin to come up through the machine. I removed the plates and made sure it was clean. Watched a video on the proper way to thread it and position the bobbin but zero success.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!
Jake

It should just be picked up by the top thread after you manually turn the wheel once. You need to be using the correct (metal) bobbins for the machine, but otherwise it’s the same as any other sewing machine.

I’ll take a look at it soon and make sure something else isn’t going on. Entirely unrelated to this issue (but pertinent to using the Lu-572) is the insane amount of oiling spots that need to be lubricated every time the machine is used. There’s a few videos that show this (including one on the wiki IIRC), and we’ve got oil on the cubby to the right of the machine.

Thanks for the respond. I found the correct bobbin in the drawer but had no success with it. It looked like someone had been trying to use it bc there was the wrong type of bobbin in it when I got there.
