Starship second orbital attempt: Friday morning

So, some of you may remember last April I posted about the first attempt to orbit by SpaceX’s Starship, launching out of Boca Chica, Tx… that rocket wasn’t expected to make it to orbit, but we needed flight data to refine models. Indeed, we had to blow it up when it veered off course. But we learned a lot from the flight, and Starship will make its second attempt on Friday morning. This one is expected to work. This is the largest rocket ever built, designed to supply a lunar, Mars, or belter colony, and it flies on methane, not kerosene.

Launch window opens at 7am Central for two hours. The best public information I can point you toward is this page, which will update with any information as it becomes public.

If you want to view the launch in person, here’s the place you want to go on South Padre Island, TX:

It’s a 6 hour drive from Austin.

If you want to watch the launch online, go here:

Webcast will start at 6:30am, thirty minutes prior to the launch window. If the weather is good, expect us to light the candle right at 7am.
