Special rubber material for laser cutting?

Hi there,

A across this rubber material that is apparently made to work for laser cutting specifically and wanted to know if anyone has tried using something like this or if I would be allowed to give it a shot. Aside from putting metal in Tarkin I wasn’t sure if there is any official list of acceptable materials for the laser cutters.

Thanks!

Laser-safe stamp rubber is fine. Other rubber materials may not cut cleanly but I don’t know of any that contain chlorine that would be a reason to prohibit it

Good to know, thanks @dannym!

I have some if you’d like to try before buying. It’s alright — not as soft/squishy as I expected it’d be, but gets the job done.

Here’s another source for lasers-cuttable/etchable rubber sheets.

I’ve made rubber stamps before in a laser. Epilog software has a special “stamp setting” that splayed in the etching as it got deeper so the top would be more firm. I don’t know about lightburn.

@MTeets cool that’s handy, yeah I figure I’ll have to experiment a bit to see what works.

@JohnWickham I just saw this and have actually already bought some, but thanks so much for offering!
