Not to be alarmist, but I was using the grinder near the wood lathers today and smelled wood smoke. I finally noticed an ember under the grinder and saw that the sparks were occasionally setting stray wood curls alight.
Cause for concern?
If you’re referring to wood debris left behind, sparks will always be of concern. Of course, if something starts smoking or catches fire stop what you’re doing and put it out. If its bad enough, there are multiple fire extinguishers around.
In a combines use space like Asmbly, members should always be aware of their surrondings. Even if someone is welding in the metal shop, they should check for flamable materials around them, as an example.
