Small CNC stopped reading usb

The controller stopped being able to read the usb “No files found”. This had been working, same usb, same controller, then stopped.

The usb is a little loose.

Not sure.

Fyi I guess.

Yes, this has happened to me, but I don’t have a specific thing to do, just general debugging… So I would unplug the USB from the controller, I would press STOP/CANCEL button until I was at the root screen (the one showing the X, Y, and Z locations), then I would insert the USB, wait a few seconds and press RUN/PAUSE button to begin the file selection process. If your USB drive has an LED it should blink after you plug it in, that is, when it’s reading the USB, which James and I find helpful. This is all assuming that the controller’s USB socket is not indeed broken.

The other work around is to cycle the power to the controller. It will hold your zero coordinates.

The usb port on the controller has been spotty for a little while, but seems to work still. We have purchased new controllers, an upgrade, for both machines and hope to have the testing, install and new workflows done in a couple weeks. Stay tuned.

Thanks guys

Two things: waiting for the blinky usb light to go solid (controller reading it) and a restart. Worked like a charm.

Thanks y’all
