Skippin' town, got some stuff to give away

Hi maker friends, after 18 years in Austin and 10 years at hackerspace/asmbly, I’m leaving for Seattle. (btw I’ve toured two of their makerspaces, and while they look nice, I’ll just say I will definitely miss the asmbly facilities)

Any interest in these? I can share pics if helpful

workshop items

  • 4” clear vinyl hose, stretchy, maybe 10ft long
  • heavy duty 4” inline duct fan
  • dustopper

workshop chemicals (all may be too old to use, unsure):

  • dry moly lube
  • assorted varnishes, finishes, etc
  • silicone mold
  • more

Sheet stock (potentially)

  • acrylic
  • plywood
  • MDF

And various bits of scrap lumber, generally in good, clean, usable condition.

I’d be interested in some finishes and sheet product, and any scrap lumber you have if it’s wide-ish!

I would definitely like to snag those.

Good luck in Seattle !

Sorry to see you go @alan! I appreciate all your contributions to the space through it’s evolution and your presentation at Maker Showcase opening up the possibilities on things you can make with sheet plastic. I still need to print that fob holder design you shared.

Enjoy the cooler weather in Seattle and please stay in touch! (also always lovely to hear insights from other spaces  and appreciate the high praise on our facilities)

Hey Alan, I’d be interested in any leftover acrylic pieces; we can put them to good use!

Sorry, I don’t think I’ll make it to the shop to drop off these items. Please text me at 737-314-5365 if you’re able to pick up. I’m in Highland, about 3.5 miles from asmbly.

Here’s what’s left:

  • assorted long stock, including various lumber and aluminum bar stock
  • 3-5 2’x4’ unused sheets of 1/4” acrylic (mostly frosted translucent), and some scraps
  • one maybe 3’x4’ sheet of 1/8” clear acrylic
  • assorted wood and wood-derived sheets (1/2” plywood, 1/2” MDF, whiteboard, pegboard, MDF black shelving)
  • 3 2’x4’ 1/16” floppy black plastic, not laserable
  • a few containers of decent shop chemicals left

most of the sheet stock is good, usable rectangle shape

Oh, and two 10’ pieces of unistrut.

I’d be keen on grabbing this clear acrylic (and/or some smaller bits of 1/4” and 1/8” acrylic I see in those photos)

Also three pieces of good plywood, 3/4”, nice finish. 18”x8’ clean rectangle, 2’x6’ clean rectangle, and one ~2’x4’ with some jagged edges. FYI I got these from the scrap pile in the back of Highland Collective.
