I’m going to be spinning up a number of these prints (githubD0Tcom/TheRobotStudio/SO-ARM100?tab) over the coming weeks in project prep for a course I’m taking with The Multiverse School (see my post over in Education).
Anyone interested in running a build in parallel? We might be able to group-buy the servos and other hardware if there’s enough interest.
Initial “leader” build is complete! Trying to figure out how to get images and potentially gif / video posted.
The tolerances are very, very tight. Some parts needing a quick visit to the “flexibility chamber” (read air fryer ) but that’s good news for linkage rigidity. Will x-post to 3d printing, but what’s our policy for +24hr prints? I’d like to get a leader/follower print done (it’s loaded on PrusaXL if anyone wants to take a gander), but that thicc boi is a day and 18hrs total…
Would I just need to schedule out in advance and make folks aware?
Have you ordered the electronics yet? I am interested…I am building another 3D printed arm right now, but would be interested in trying this out to compare. I went into mine with zero knowledge so I’ve certainly made some…ill advised design choices so far. Maybe I’d learn a thing or two building one of these. And I’d be interested in using the leader as a controller for mine, potentially.

I’m planning on coming in today to get some work done and potentially queue up a print. Need to get in touch with Asmbly admins and see how to get a longer print in the hopper without pissing everyone off
