All,
Here is the September 2025 CNC Recap. The recorded Zoom link is at the end of the post, as always.
Andrew is interested in making topographic maps. He shared with us this AMAZING website where he’s able to generate a topographical map from anywhere in the United States, and maybe, the world! It’s here: Welcome to TouchTerrain, the free web app for creating 3D printable terrain models!
Ted shared his salt shaker with us, He made an inlay and wow–I was impressed!
Nathan is looking at Moziak here at Asmbly, but in the meantime, he shared with us some of his cabinetry work, some of which is in AutoCAD.
Brian made an automatic ceramic stamping CNC stamp using ChatGPT. He is now looking into, and has made some significant progress on a CNC that may paint a Mona Lisa for him one day. Personally, I think he’s aiming for his Fountain. ChatGPT + Brian = devilishness!
Shane also shared with us the YouTube channels Ningyue and Innovative Design for clever and unusual mechanical builds. This is especially helpful as we think about what Brian may be concocting next.
Steve and I made the flag at Asmbly, where Steve did most of the work but I cheered him on. Steve’s did the design in CarveCo, his most favorite CAD software. I’m glad we live in a free society where we can both share our pride in this nation and what it stands for, even though he and I disagree on quite a bit politically. It was wonderful, and I will always defend Steve’s right to be wrong any day of the week ![]()
Now, next month’s meeting theme is Halloween! Bring your spooky, weird, and haunted CNC creations. We’ll see you on Sunday, October 5th at 12:30pm in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) at Asmbly. Be scary, be spooky, and share with us what makes you excited about CNCing when the ghouls and goblins are afoot!
Cya next month!
