Security Update and Change to the Vectric Process

I just received the below email from Vectric - those users that have accounts through Asmbly’s license should have gotten something similar. I’m not sure yet if there is any meaningful change other than the requirement to renew your sign-in to access/save/edit files which you should be doing anyways. I will test out later today and update if any necessary actions are required.

Hello Makerspace Administrator,

We want to inform you about a recent security update we’ve implemented to enhance protection and improve ease of use going forward. This update affects how users access files through their VCarve Pro Trial Edition at your makerspace.

If any of your members report being unable to open files in Vectric software, please instruct them to sign in again by clicking the “Sign in…” button in the top right corner of their VCarve Pro Trial Edition screen.

We’ve sent a notification to all users about this change, but we wanted to ensure you were aware in case you receive any questions or need to assist members at your makerspace.
If you or your users experience any issues during the sign-in process, please contact our support team at support@vectric.com

Thank you for your help in implementing these security enhancements.

Got it too. Keep me posted what you find out.

The e-mail that I got just sounds like it will automatically log us out of the Vectric software on the Asmbly machines.

If anyone else can try to sign out and then sign in and create a file please let us know. I just had to cancel my CNC class early because neither I nor any of my students could get Vcarve to authenticate and open.

I’ve already sent a support email to Vectric about it.

Logged in using the Admin account and it asked for a new permission. Granted that, and it seems to be functioning correctly.

Can a few help verify it works?

I can confirm that Vcarve 12 is now working properly on the right lobby computer, the swift computer and my home pc.

Thanks for your patience with this, it would have been nice if vectric had given us some warning in advance.
