Some questions came up recently about the security cameras we have on-site and what they’re used for. There were some outdated signs around the space suggesting a different use of our camera footage than what is described in our member waiver as well as our actual usage of them.
Security cameras record 24/7 and are used for operational or legal purposes. Some examples include troubleshooting facilities or safety concerns, following up on reported issues, or other lawful purposes.
Security cameras are NOT used for promotional purposes or any other purpose without your explicit consent.
During special events (i.e Maker Market, Maker Showcase), there may be specific areas of the building with different cameras on or rolling with the intent of using for educational or promotional purposes. This would be event and location specific and related event staff will work to ensure notice is given.
