I happened to change out the Sawstop blade today to demonstrate the dado blade.
Someone left a fine tooth blade on the Sawstop. 40-50 tooth blades are what we keep on the saw, standard. This was a Diablo 80-90 tooth 3/32 thick blade. The fence guide is calibrated for 1/8 blades. This blade was probably hanging around in a drawer. If you need to use a fine tooth blade, swap it back out to a 40/50 tooth blade when you are done. Ask a steward for assistance.
Also, the arbor nut was on way too tight. It was challenging to remove the nut. When you tighten the nut too far, you can permanently warp a blade and permanently damage the arbor washer.
Tighthen the nut until it will no longer move freely. Then give a quick tug on the wrenches. Do not strain to tighten the nut.
Overtightened components are a leading cause of equipment damage in our shop. Knobs, nuts, collets, etc… Do not overtighten.
