A member of the ctwa group runs a sawmill in Georgetown. Every few months he processes pretty large logs of mesquite or pecan or others on his chainsaw Mill and then shuffles them through a large kiln on his property.
Besides that, he is an experienced Turner and furniture maker. He’s always happy to show folks around and get a a hands-on experience. If anyone is interested in seeing it, he’ll be running things on Thursday. I intend to be there!
If anyone else would like to join me, please do! Start time TBD. Expect to hang out for a few hours. Bring water, gloves, ear and eye protection

Was this well attended? Bill is great and his slabs he has some of the best priced oak, pecan , hackberry and elm around.
He’s market rate for walnut and mesquite as well.
@Glory2God and I got to hang out there for a bit. I’ll post some pictures and videos soon as I can. It was an awesome experience! We got to help him mill up two logs and move them to the stack for his kiln. We got paid in more wood; more spalted pecan chunks than I’ll be able to deal with for months!
