Sandblaster nozzle swap

Hello everyone, I’m currently trying to use the sandblaster and I’m having difficulty getting it to remove some of the rust and paint off.

It feels intermittent in its effectiveness. I’m wondering if this has to do with the amount of media that it is dispensing (low media issue?) or maybe the nozzle is very blown out and not creating a concentrated area that impacts it?

I tried swapping the nozzle to to one that is above the sandblaster but wasn’t able to get the brass colored cap off the end. I had the machine off and pressure switch turned off. Is there something I’m doing incorrectly?

You unthread the brass cap.

Do I need to depressurize? if so, how would I do that?

I was trying to take it off but it wouldn’t budge. I tried taking some pliers to it, but stopped as soon as the knurling was getting a little scuffed.

You don’t need to depressurize. It could have some grit in the threads. Thank you for not scuffing it up. I will drop by and see if I can get it off

I was able to change the nozzle it was really on there for some reason.

Thank you!

I’m going to check with @mgmoore if we can order a boron nozzle. They last a lot longer than the inexpensive ceramic. Amazon
