Roomba

I have 3 Roombas that no longer run. We’ve cleaned them and replaced the batteries, but no luck. Is there someone who might be willing to take a look at them? These things are expensive and I’d rather not throw them away without trying to fix them.

Please text me directly if you can help; 281.731.8300

I found in the past that there was corrosion on the contacts where the battery connects. I would also check the contacts for the charging dock and on the Roomba.

If no one takes you up on your offer, the City of Austin holds quarterly Fix-It Clinics where you can register for a free time slot and meet with a volunteer coach to work on repairing your item. I’ve volunteered at these events and have seen a wide range of electronics fixed in under an hour, from LCD TV screens to pressure cookers. You just missed the most recent one, but the next clinic will be in January. I suggest signing up for email alerts so you don’t forget to register.

A helpful tip: it’s best to arrive 30 minutes early or right when the event begins to avoid long wait times. Once things get busy, the wait can stretch to 45 minutes or more.
