The router table is out of commission until we can replace the height adjustment mechanism. Brass drive has stripped out completely.
Does it make sense to make one out of steel?
No, it is made to be sacrificial, cost less to replace the brass nut than the elevating acme screw. There should be a spare one somewhere in the locker. It is caused by negligence on the operator, over tightening when reaching the top/bottom, or trying to move up and down when the spindle is locked. Please don’t loose the o ring. When ordering the spare take note of the size of the screw you will need it.
