Just a reminder: if any machine using a cutting fluid (cold saw, horizontal band saw, metal lathe, circulator for drill press and Rong Fu) runs low or out of fluid, you should simply add distilled water directly via their recirculation drains. Distilled water is available on a platform underneath the end of the Tormach. The stewards will adjust the concentration later; it doesn’t need to be precise.
Further reminder: the Cold Saw absolutely must not be used without cutting fluid. That fluid is an essential part of the “cold” in the machine’s name.
Use of cutting fluid on the other machines is situational, depending on the material cut and operation performed. Generally, fluid should be used with any cuts in steel.
