Reference for Harvey G700?

I have a friend who’s considering the Harvey G700 Gyro Air Dust Processor. Before he decides to spend $4,000 to have dramatically quieter cleaner air in his shop, he’d like to talk with anyone who owns one.

Anybody know of someone who owns this Air Dust Processor?

Hopefully there’s someone here with experience with this, but in case your friend hasn’t come across this video on YouTube this is where I learned about these dust collectors from one of my favorite YouTubers. He has some good info in there, although his is G800.

Stumpy Nubs also featured it in one of his “cool tools” videos.

It’s definitely a very strong choice for a new purchase- the tech’s quiet, efficient, and notably more effective and lower maintenance/higher reliability. As they explain, it’s got a bit longer spool-up time as the negative. At first it looks like its larger footprint is a downside, but that’s not entirely the case because it can potentially slide under a shelf with other equipment.

I just came across a build video for a DIY gyro separator, in a clear tube so you can see it work. The results were surprisingly (to me, anyway) good given the builder’s lackadaisical approach to fluid dynamics. Feel free to skip to the end and watch it work

I’d seriously consider a G700 for a small shop or a dedicated sanding setup. We ruled out a big Harvey for Asmbly because the cost seems to go up disproportionally with capacity compared to more conventional setups.
