Hello everyone,
We are excited to announce our redesigned Wood Lathe class offerings:
Wood Lathe: Make a Spindle
Wood Lathe: Make a Bowl
@drew.hynes has put in a lot of work to redesign these offerings so that our community can more quickly jump straight into the projects they are interested in. We will no longer have an “Intro to Wood Lathe” class. Instead, you can take either of these classes and be certified to use the wood lathes. Both classes will cover the lathe basics, then jump into project-specific skills.
In both offerings you will have the chance to create a project of your own. For the Make a Spindle class, students will choose custom hardware to create a personalized coffee scoop, bottle stopper, or screwdriver (pictured below). For the Make a Bowl class, well, you will make a bowl (also pictured below).
Feel free to take both classes if you want to round out your lathe skills - you will get a welcome reminder of lathe basics, then pick up the project skills you are looking for!
