Hi all, I went ahead and bought a universal 3D printer tent. I thought it would slip over the Prusa MK3S easily. I got it on, it wasn’t all that easy; though getting it to the lab was a bit of a hassle. I had to partially disassemble it to fit it in my trunk.
Would anyone object to me leaving it in the print lab after tonight’s print? I have a few more planned. I would remove it from the printer of course.
Are you willing to let other people use it, and to write a wiki page with instructions for doing so?
How small does it pack down? In the past, we’ve required people to take their enclosures with them when their print finishes because we are perennially short on storage space. Instead, we’ve encouraged people to use the free-standing fully-enclosed printers.
No problem, as long as we can keep track of which printer is using it so someone doesn’t book time, make the (in my case ~30min) drive to the lab, and find out that they can’t print because someone else is using the cover…
It could fit on a shelf if packed all the way. The box it came in is pretty small. Though it would have to be assembled and disassembled each time. I can show you that process. Not terribly tricky, just adds some time.
Unfortunately, the only working free-standing enclosed printer in the lab at the moment requires specialized training, I don’t know how many members have it.
