I have a Prusa i3 printer - partially assembled. My family gave it to me many years ago (2011?) when home 3d printers were a new thing. I started the assembly process, but ran into a problem when one of the parts was cracked. That stopped my building, and I just put off asking the manufacturer for a new part. The parts sat long enough that the family demanded that I either finish or give up the space Well, it got put in a closet - and I never got back to it. The cracked part is plastic and likely someone could reproduce it with another printer.
At any rate, I’ve decided that I’m more likely to just buy a functioning printer than to go through the process of building one. Thus, this one needs a better home. Let me know if you are interested.
I have students who would be interested in the printer.
If it’s plastic, it’s likely that a replacement for the cracked part could be printed on Asmbly’s printers. Prusa is good about giving the 3D models you need to replace broken parts (as I know from experience breaking them ).
Hi Joe, I’m happy to bring the parts to you. I even have the cracked piece so it could be replicated. I plan on going to Asmbly tomorrow. Will you be around? Or tell me where to leave it for you.
Jody
Thanks, Aneel. I figured someone would know how to do this. And, I appreciate learning that Prusa is helpful in providing the models.

Hi Jody. It is has been long time since I have seen you in the shop. I have not been there much at all. If you could leave it by the up for grabs shelf with my name on it. That would be awesome! Thank you again.
I think the modern printers are so much better. I like the reliability and speed shows off your design vs your ability to fidget/repair a printer. I’m a huge fan of Bambu and the high end Crealitys.
Hi Joe,
Given the time between when I received this printer kit and now, I figured that my time would be better spent looking at an assembled machine rather than making the effort to build it out. I hope you and your students find the kit or the parts useful.
Thanks for suggesting the Bambu and Creality. I have not yet moved on to tackling 3D printers, but I’m getting close. I’m still in the woodshop 4-5 days a month. I hope to increase my presence now that I’m fully retired.
If you are not at Asmbly much, it must mean that life is busy for you with other tasks. I just want to say, however, that you were of great help to me when I was getting started. I always appreciated your kindness and knowledge.
I’ll get the box to Asmbly tomorrow (Thursday). It may be 2 boxes. I’ll label the box(es) with your name.
Jody
Joe - I delivered the boxes to Asmbly. I placed them to the right of the “Up for Grabs” shelving. I also included the cracked part that stopped my assembly.
I hope you and your students get some use out of it.
